Reading Strategies

Next week we will be practicing the difference between fantasy and realism. We will also review Fiction and Non-Fiction, text to self, text to text, and text to world connections.

We will also learn a reading strategy called “Eagle Eye”. This strategy has students looking at the pictures to help them sound out unknown words.

Math

Next week will continue to discuss addition and subtraction strategies. We will learn/discuss adding 3 numbers with an up and down format, counting on, counting back, and using addition to subtract.

Monkey of the week

Last week’s “Monkey of the week” was Ieva! Ieva’s favorite subjects are Reading, Art and Gym. Her favorite food is Mac and cheese and her favorite book is Barbie. Congratulations to Ieva on her awesome week!
