Reading Strategies
We will continue making text-self connections. When reading a story with
your student, ask them how it reminds them of their own life.
We will also be
practicing monitoring and clarifying in a story and the difference between
fantasy and realism.
Math
Next week we will
continue using addition and subtraction. We will decide when to use each
application.
We will focus on the
following strategies: Adding three numbers, add to zero and addition in any
order.

Reminders
Exploration stations begin
October 4th (Settling of
America).
We will be going on a
field trip to see a play on Monday, October 21.
The play is entitled, “Professor McBumble’s
Fabulous Fairy-Tale Follies Revue – The Bully Show!” and will be
performed at Lewis University in Romeoville. The bus will leave at
approximately 9:30 and will return by 11:50.
The children will still be able to order a hot lunch for that day if
desired. A permission slip will be sent home soon. Please fill it out and return it along with $7 cash.
Thanks.
